Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a luggage theft where a believed to be irritant spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
