The Opening Xbox Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content about PlayStation unprecedentedly. The past year represented an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft remains determined to engage players with strong games on its key platform.
The Available Now Titles
The two games that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.
Upcoming Headline Games
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of terror and combat."
Intriguing Niche Additions
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service alone. However, this batch of games are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that failed to receive the spotlight they were due initially — rendering them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
