Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Call

The president said he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president addressed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Support

Community members assembled over the weekend at a local school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s national effort to aid law enforcement in the capital.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the kind of student that educators desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” Hankins, the principal of her alma mater, informed the media. “She was caring, considerate and always eager to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event led the Trump administration to pause asylum processing and cease granting visas to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, according to the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey stated on television.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed the program that she planned to speak to his relatives.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey told the audience at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
