Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil are two of the early candidates in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on Sunday following the team's ten-game without a victory start to the top-flight season.

And both candidates - each of whom have previous associations to the team - are among the names to be considered by the club leadership.

The manager is presently at another club, which would create a potential hurdle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

However the former Luton Town manager - who made more than 100 of games for Wolves during his playing career - is considered a strong candidate for the position.

The 42-year-old is said to have support from the club directors as they start the process of appointing a fresh head coach.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a unexpected candidate, even though he would be a shock appointment considering he was sacked by Wolves in December last year.

The ex- West Ham player is out of work which means Wolves would not need to provide any compensation.
