British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
Joshua had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans shared condolences for the star in the following the devastating accident.
