Barça Ready for First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
