The public reaction, in contrast, has been less complimentary. A number of observers have accused Pantone of being completely "Pantonedeaf." Trend analyst Mandy Lee called it "disappointing." Critics have likened it to implied endorsement of certain ideologies seen in recent advertising.

I see, one would hope they're happily ignorant that this isn't the best moment to be pointedly celebrating whiteness... So, how might someone who doesn't follow a fashion show use this information in everyday routine? My kitchen ceiling is my ceiling in white paint, does that qualify?
